Progress makes improvement

Hello and welcome.

Grateful for you to be here once again. Zac and Will’s next tale The Banshee has been finished with the writing, character designs are completed, and working on establishing a consistent color pallet.

I did some experimentation with it, which you can see here on this piece I did.

Nature walks and research

I really have enjoyed this past month going out on walks with my wife, and family. There is a nature trail nearby our home and I have been just staring at the amazing things that nature brings. The shapes and colors of nature.

My observation has been that there are a lot of leaves that are shaped like a heart. I don’t think that is a coincidence. I believe it’s just a simple thing to remind us that we are loved and we can literally see it every time we go to connect out in nature.

Just as the illustration I did was to practice the color pallet I will be using for Zac and Will going forward, I was also practicing the vegetation and plants. I made sketches of many plants from my nature walks and discovered that many plants that appear to be beautiful, were in fact either weeds, or invasive, and so I decided that I was going to create forests and illustrations that don’t have them.

I’m sure there is going to be a point where these weeds and invasive species will make it into Zac and Will’s world, but in the meantime they will be absent.
